Let’s take a simple approach to healthy spirit, soul, and body together. It does not have to be complicated or overwhelming. Sometimes we need a friend that can give us a simple reminder to take one thing at a time and give us tools to do that. Can we just simplify wellness, together?
You and I can embark on this journey toward holistic health, together. We’ll take a simple, practical approach to nurturing your spirit, soul, and body.
We will start by prioritizing your spiritual and mental well-being, you’ll create a foundation for optimal physical health. We will just take time, to have simple discussions to break down barriers that keep you from moving forward. Then we can develop a plan…an approach to breaking through those barriers to reach what seems to be an impossible goal in your mind. Let’s work together to cultivate a life of balance, peace, and vitality.
I would like for you to start by imagining our spiritual and mental health as gardens. To cultivate a thriving garden, you need to tend to the soil, the plants, and the overall environment. What do you want to weed out and what do you want to plant? By focusing on one aspect at a time, we can make significant progress towards your holistic well-being.
God designed us as holistic beings, with interconnected spiritual, mental, and physical dimensions. By aligning our lives with His principles, we can experience optimal health and well-being. By nurturing our souls and minds, we create a fertile ground for physical health to flourish. When we prioritize our spiritual well-being through practices like prayer, meditation, and gratitude, we experience reduced stress, improved mood, and increased resilience, which leads to a healthy mind. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body.
Here is the breakdown of our spirit, soul, and body.
SPIRIT (Spiritual)
Only the Spirit of God can communicate with your spirit in such a way that it leaves you with identity, intimacy, purpose, love, grace etc. God wants us to live from the inside out. Until we get really good at understanding His spirit and how it is talking to our spirit, we will always live from the outside in. If we don’t switch this, we will always be dependent on what people think of us, people praying over us, rather than standing in our own God given authority, having a word spoken to us from someone else, someone telling us what God is saying, rather than hearing Him for ourselves. God wants to prepare you to walk out the things you are struggling with, because you are no longer bound by fear…He has given you what you need to get out of it.
Galatians 5:22-23 – The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.
SOUL (Psychological)
Your soul is the non-physical part of you that encompasses your mind, will, and emotions. It’s who you are as a person, your unique personality, and your connection to the spiritual realm.
- Mind: Your intellect, thoughts, and beliefs.
- Will: Your ability to make choices and take action.
- Emotions: Your feelings and reactions to situations.
These encompass your personality, how God created you. To nourish your soul, you need to renew your mind through practices like meditation, prayer, and reading God’s Word.
Romans 12:2 – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
BODY (Physical)
Your body is an intricate system of interconnected parts, each playing a vital role in your overall health and well-being. Here’s a breakdown of some of the major systems:
- Skeletal System
- Muscular System
- Nervous System
- Circulatory System
- Respiratory System
- Digestive System
- Endocrine System
- Immune System
- Integumentary System
When these systems work together harmoniously, you experience optimal health. However, when one system is compromised, it can affect the entire body.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 – “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
”Now, may the God of peace and harmony set you apart, making you completely holy. And may your entire being—spirit, soul, and body—be kept completely flawless in the appearing of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. The one who calls you by name is trustworthy and will thoroughly complete his work in you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
