The concept of the soul in the Bible encompasses your thoughts, emotions, will, and desires (Proverbs 4:23). A wounded soul can experience a range of negative emotions like fear, anxiety, or shame, which only prevents one from true healing. The emotional aspect of our being and the distinct personality traits that make us unique are rooted in our soul. The soul can be thought of as our mind, will, and emotions.

Our spirit can be thought of as the immaterial part of us that includes our conscience, our “intuition”, and the part of us that can seek holiness and wholeness through prayer, fasting and meditation with God. A sense of inner joy and peace happen in our spirit when it aligns with Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the life force of a believer, guiding, comforting, and empowering them (Romans 8:26). A healthy spirit is vital for a strong relationship with God and overall well-being.
